Full Trash 140 - VOIGHT-KAMPFF - The Din of Dying Youth LP (Co-release with Deranged Rec.)

"The Din Of Dying Youth" LP coming off the heels off a mounting barrage of thick post-punk releases in previous years, VOIGHT-KAMPFF pushes out another assault of atmospheric post-punk and SMITHS-meets-CHAMELEONS-style pop banger with their new LP "The Din Of Dying Youth".
Immediately dropping into the fray like a paratrooper on the first track, the album's rhythmic chiming and bolting drums push their way through the melodic chorus-drenched guitar like a jackhammer pushing through a stream of water, cooling it down from overheating, in a sky-scraping industrial park factory where no sunlight reaches. The vocals reach over the tracks like the foreman of the factory speaking through the PA system to his human-replaced assembly line machines while simultaneously gripping the self-destruct button to detonate the entire site. Through the screeches and tears, faint optimistic veils drift in and out, spiraling around the tracks like a miasma.
Clocking in at just over 20 minutes, "The Din Of Dying Youth" delivers a solid line without fluff or filling, striking both sides of the alternative melancholy buzz, from Creation Records to the steel grinding steel noise of Touch & Go. As the tracks go on feel the momentum as you're shot and traveling miles per minute through overhead cable lines from the Muddy Waters of the Mississippi River into the cold Northeastern waters of the Quabbin Reservoir. Josh Jenkins a perfect blend of sonic sounds and industrial era programming, resulting in nothing less than dark-wave BAUHAUS-esque quality. On "The Din of Dying Yout", are upbeat pop songs that could fit quite nicely on a classic dark pop LP like "Script of the Bridge". A referral for steady listeners of JOY DIVISION, ICEAGE, BAUHAUS and CHAMELEONS.

Full Trash 137 - MISCALCULATIONS - Echolocation LP (Co-release with No Front Teeth Rec.)

Once again Marco NO FRONT TEETH and MISCALCULATIONS set up an alluring and sticky flytrap of an album that you simply keep your ears glued to. The new bunch of songs swarm in unmistakably with Marco's high pitched and voice that buzzes in your head and makes you wiggle happily.
On "Echolocation" MISCALCULATIONS throw back familiar soundwaves and yet they manage to advance their formula with almost undistorted and driving guitars, fantastic choruses, more background voices and melodies that perfectly blend power-popped up Punkrock (think of he whole cast BUZZCOCKS, GAGGERS, STATUES, TOYOTAS) in insanely catchy songs like "War in dreams", "Tame the ocean", "Blurred photographs" or "The escapist" with WIRE-like Post-Punk in slower songs like "Petrol sea", "Spreading the disease while supplying the cure" and "A new astronomy".
On this release you find even more No-Wave synths and fast electronic drum sounds here and there, especially in the title track and in the secret super hit "Those who wish to be stolen from". Just take off and let the sound of MISCALCULATIONS take you on another pleasant and poetic night flight.

Full Trash 136 - NIGHTWATCHERS - Good Kids Obey Oneside-LP (Co-release with No Glory / La Agonia de Vivir / Inhumano Discos / Endless Daze Rec.)

The NIGHTWATCHERS is a young and insubordinate gang of juvenile streetfighters from the country that brought us the modern-day revolution and their first platter serves us 7 catchy instructions for civil disobedience. The songs come on strong and straight forward and they are soaking with juicy guitar melodies and catchy singalong choruses like the rag of a molotov cocktail is soaking with gasoline.
The slightly darker opener ''The Hangman'' arrives with sticks and stones and reminds of OBSERVERS, RADIOACTIVITY, NERVOSAS and a wee bit of BULLET LAVOLTA'S ''Dead wrong''. It is followed by the punkier ''Nightwatcher'', ''Scum'' and ''Juvenile Crime'' with a fistful of street attitude, singalongs and a harder edge, somewhere between REGULATIONS, MODERN ACTION and CIRCLE JERKS. ''Friendly fire'' lets the sirens blare with its MARKED MEN/SEDATIVES/STATUES punk, ''Border control'' has a totally great guitar line and explores the darker post-punk realm and ''Making it great again'' finally drops the bomb with a melody that makes you go wild.
This is good fodder for all the kids that do not want to obey....an unstoppable and burning soundtrack for the next decent punkrock riot.
The record comes as a one-sided-12inch with a silkscreened B-side of a burning police car....

Full Trash 133 - PAST - Czarno/Biala (Black/White) LP (Co-release with Samuel / PHR Rec. / Contraszt! Rec. / PAST Rec.)

If you are able to crack a smile even through the tears, the new album of Polish band PAST will be exactly for you! Their raw sound can't deny countrymen of SIEKIERA´s classics - they can be as cold as X-MAL DEUTSCHLAND, but full of hope and energy, they can also give you new zest for life. They are more melodic than VÅNNA INGET and more melancholic than MAKTHEVERSKAN. On the LP "Black/White", the 80's post-punk gets a distinctive character also thanks to the strong vocal of the singer Gosia, who really performs her dissatisfaction with the state of today's world with expression and is not satisfied with a vacant "singing". She's got an opinion, she complains, calms down, screams, she can dream away and get angry and her fellow bandmates are helping her with that. Eleven songs and a cover by EWA BRAUN are definitely not black and white. On the contrary, the album is full of colors - the brighter ones and the darker ones as well. However, all of them are intensive and that's a specific sign of PAST. Moreover, the lyric poetry in Polish makes it believable and leaves no space for empty phrases. Fans will be able to get the vinyl "Czarno/Biala" for instance on the mini-tour in the Czech Republic or in Gliwice, where PAST are going to be a support for the legendary CLAN OF XYMOX. Full Trash 132 - JUST JEFFREY - Coffee, Tea & Me LP (Full Trash 132) (Licensed from La Ti Da Rec.)

Limd. 300 Deluxe Silk-Screened Sleeve Europe Version with new artwork!
It’s been twelve long years between solo LPs from everyone’s favourite frontman, Jeffrey McCloy (TRANZMITORS / FASHIONISM). McCloy has long worn his anglophile leanings on his sleeve – if not his lapel – and on "Coffee, Tea & Me" we see him striking out on his own, putting on the Brit with gleeful abandon.
From the early WHO and KINKS to THE JAM and THE VAPORS, the musical influences aren’t hard to pick out. This is a mod revival, and a campy, tongue-in-cheek one at that. There’s songs about football, drinking tea (like, every other song), and evil widows who live at the end of the lane. It’s all silly, nostalgic fun, and McCloy absolutely nails it, thanks in no small part to his own self-awareness. “I look out of place but I feel no disgrace,” he confesses on the album’s closer, “English Way Of Life”.
Unlike previous projects that saw a full band backing him up at all times, on "Coffee, Tea & Me" the focus is largely on McCloy’s vocals. On songs like “Cellular Devices” or “Believe What You Must”, the sparse arrangements allow his hilariously affected yet oddly charming voice to take centre stage. When he does bust out the full band on numbers like “Kids These Days” and “World Made For Me,” no one is stepping on McCloy’s toes; the drums are tastefully understated and the keys give him plenty of space to breathe. These are pop songs after all, complete with the requisite harmonies and key changes, and damn if they aren’t catchy.

Full Trash 129 - EXIT - Hierarchy Of Line LP (Co-release with No Front Teeth Rec. / Glass Eye Recordings)

Brand new project of MISCALCULATION / SACCARINE SOUVENIRS' man of the hour - Mr. Palumbo himself! This time the Brit fades away deeper into the gloomy abyss of synth-based postpunk than ever before. And despite the great BLACKNESS which is all around on this platter, there are a lot of pop-structures going on, too!
With EXIT Londons´ punkrock superstar walks down the lane good ol´ GARY NUMAN and ADRIAN BORLAND built in the late 70s and DIGITAL LEATHER´s SHAWN FORREE rediscovered with "Monologue" and "Blow Machine" a while ago. Wavy beats, dancy darkness and yes, also those ´77-influenced vocals which Palumbo (lucky for us) just can´t shake off.
HIERARCHY OF LINE is the missing link between TUBEWAY ARMY, DIGITAL LEATHER, THE SOUND and THE GAGGERS you always wanted, but were too afraid to ask for!!

Full Trash 128 - LINE TRAPS - Same LP

Lord Rutledge on his "Faster and Louder" blog calling:
What a record! Even with all the great stuff out there right now in the punk/garage world, I've really been missing simple, snarling punk music like this. Maybe Line Traps will inspire a new movement. Or perhaps they've given us a debut album so good that no one will bother trying to top it. The "best band in Canada" conversation looks to be getting even more complicated!!!
When a band introduces itself as "a 40-year-old guy who grew up on '80s hardcore, bargain punk records, and '90s garage with two fresh-faced 23-year-old girls who love all that shit too", I know my ears are in for a royal treat! And so we have the mighty LINE TRAPS out of Victoria, British Columbia - a trio reviving the garage punk by way of ANGRY SAMOANS or BRUTAL KNIGHTS stylings of pre-millennium greats like LOLI AND THE CHONES and ZODIAC KILLERS. On its 12-song (one-sided) debut LP, this band comes hard and fast with a perfect blend of ferocious hardcore punk and trashy garage goodness. With songs mostly in the 1-2 minute range, each track is a quick burst of attitude and aggression. At no point do LINE TRAPS find it necessary to slow things down or stretch the ambitions of their songwriting. Instead it's one ripper after another - with songs so good you'd swear you heard a few of them on an old volume of KILLED BY DEATH. You may know singer/guitarist T. Depression from his one man band THE NEW KRIME. LINE TRAPS are essentially the full band version of THE NEW KRIME - with Poly Ethylene (bass) and S. Pressure (drums) comprising the consummate trash punk rhythm section and hands down the coolest backup vocal tandem I've heard in years. Furious cuts like "ShockAppeal", "She's Electric", and "Mannequin" have me constantly checking to make sure I haven't time traveled back to the late '90s.

saccharine-souvenirs-mix.mp3

Full Trash 127 - SACCHARINE SOUVENIRS - Trauma LP (Co-release with FDH Rec.)

There are two ways you can approach this record!
One possibility could be to follow the lament of the ones that for years and years have been in search of a substitute for their favorite band, which had a promising start but at some point took a wrong path. Those that hold the view that DIGITAL LEATHER took that wrong exit after "Monologue", at the latest with "Hard at work", can be relieved. SACCHARINE SOUVENIRS take the same dark and melancholic line but throw in the right additive to finally be more than just the continuation of their reference.
On the other hand you can approach this record by taking a look at the lengthy development of its musical roots. This approach is not that precise and a rocky road for sure, because it only delivers the main ingredients and for obvious reasons can hardly be looked up at Bandcamp. But those who want to find out for themselves can struggle through a maze of bands which the majority of people hardly has heard of. All these bands have in common that they were around (even if only for a short time) in the early 80s, bands like CIRCUIT 7 (Video boys), DAS KABINETTE (Fudge it), CHARLES DE GOAL (Exposition), FUTURISK (Army now), MITTAGEISEN, THE UNITS (Digital simulation), earliest HUMAN LEAGUE (Taverner tapes) and others whose music could only be heard on tape cassette among a small circle of aficionados back in the days.
SACCHARINE SOUVENIRS is a spin-off of EXIT and MISCALCULATIONS and the band has a real great sense for little mean and minimalistic melodies. Not only do they add a second female voice but also guitar lines that Robert Smith in his heyday could not have played prettier and hidden any better in the broad synthesizers. Most people will only hear them if directly colliding with their nose on them but from then on they will never be able to fade them out again.
The 10 songs are completed by a sound which perfectly captures the charme of an 80s bedroom recording in all its narrowness.

Full Trash 126 - THE BLOODTYPES - Pull The Plug LP (Co-release with Bomb Pop Rec.)

Lord Rutledge on his "Faster and Louder" blog calling:
Woo hoo! The long-awaited second album from THE BLOODTYPES has arrived! What a wonderful way to finish off a great year for music!
Hailing from Portland, Oregon, THE BLOODTYPES are one of my favorite present-day bands. I just love what this group represents: a return to the energy and fun of '77 punk/new wave and early '80s synth-pop - with lyrics that walk a fine line between sci-fi silliness and serious social commentary.
It's been three-and-a-half years since THE BLOODTYPES released their first album, and the brand-new Pull The Plug does not disappoint! These are the catchiest and strongest songs yet from this most excellent band! If you were looking forward to more BLONDIE, REZILLOS, EPOXIES type new wave action, well there's plenty of that to be found here. But on this record, the band integrates all kinds of influences into its distinctive punk/wave sound. Taking on styles ranging from full-on early '80s hardcore ("Panic", "Rejected") to melodic synth-pop ("Modern Love", "Television Dreams") with additional hints of dance, prog, and garage rock, THE BLOODTYPES are not about to give you a chance to get bored!
Seriously: there's no other band out there quite like this! Schneck Tourniquet continues to impress on lead vocals - showing the spunk to propel the album's more upbeat tracks along with a tenderness and humanity so crucial to slower songs like "Back From Space". And what a lovely voice she has! As you'd expect from a BLOODTYPES album, songs cover such topics as S & M, spies, boyfriends in space, and the mass murder of aliens. But the band also tackles contemporary concerns about technology and society on this record. A lot of these songs have a great deal to say about how we're being manipulated into our own unhappiness by television, electronic devices, and a larger cyber-universe that distorts our realities. That said, the "message" of this release is not heavy-handed in any way. This is a fun record that will make you want to dance, jump around, and enjoy life. And if it also makes you think a little, well that's icing on the cake!

Full Trash 125 - DELETIONS - Hungers LP (Co-release with FDH Rec.)

Debut longplayer by Pennsylvanian överkillers DELETIONS!! The Guys deliver an awesome as bloody hell, energy-laden mix of Synth-Punk / Noise Post-Punk / Garage-Punk! Alone the setup (real-life drums, guitar, synth and two singers) shows, that they don´t try to ride the overhyped minimal wave-train, but are heavily influenced by cool end-70s shit like LOS REACTORS, UNITS, FUTURISK etc and the two awesome covers of "Walking Skeletons" by BILLY SYNTH and "Electrical Generator" by CARDBOARDS are telling the rest of the story! Well, sort of - there´s definitely a pretty distinguished neo-garage sound in there, too. They don´t try to be nice and clean! They are real, they are ecstatic and their sound awakens memories of unforgotten treasures like LOST SOUNDS, DIGITAL LEATHER ("Sorcerer"-era), RIVER CITY TANLINES and the newly-created bands like TELEDROME or SGNLS. Full Trash 124 - DYSCONTROL - Living Without LP

A record like one of those you used to dub on tape and listened to on a stroll underneath a concrete sky in your industrial town. And while you looked up the grey tower buildings surrounding you, you suddenly felt the darkness crushing in on you. And your sadness went along with your anger and you took a look inside the windows and the music just screamed inside you.
And for a moment you just forgot everything you lacked and you just felt good. DYSCONTROL from Halifax/Canada (the new band of David Brown of CAREER SUICIDE) have captured this old feeling on their first full length, a record that makes you stomp and shiver. The dry and direct sound of the songs really define what is so excessively used under the monicker of Post-Punk these days.
There are the WIPERS and MISSION OF BURMA influenced mid-tempo creepers "Common threat", "Problem solution" or "Conductor" with their anthemic bass lines and choruses. But there are also the faster "Somnambulist" or "End of days" that sound like late 80 UK Punks CRISIS and songs like "Where you live" and "On my side" that will remind you of the STATUES in their darker mood.
All over this record there is this certain feeling of aggressive melancholia that reaches you deep down, grabs you and does not let you go. A record you definitely do not want to live without anymore. Mastered by Rob Seaton of the STATUES.

Full Trash 123 - DIGITAL LEATHER - All Faded LP (Co-release with FDH Rec.)

DIGITAL LEATHER has been serving up a steady diet of heavy synth driven dark pop for years. We are very excited to announce that they worked with FDH / P.Trash records once again for the new album "All Faded".
All faded blasts through 11 tracks in just over a half hour. 5 people making heavy, synth-forward music. They use a lot of Moogs. Shawn Foree began DIGITAL LEATHER as a one-man bedroom thing in Arizona, releasing records on a ton of labels (Fat Possum, P.Trash, Goner, FDH, Volar, etc). After relocating to Omaha Nebraska a band formed. They toured around and as a band DIGITAL LEATHER recorded All Faded. It’s the first album with a full band. The record sounds huge in comparison to the earlier efforts. Big drums, thick bass, great guitars, and of course biting synth-leads courtesy of The Faint’s Todd Fink.
Torment, darkness and hangovers fuel All Faded. But does that make it a downer? All Faded is cohesive. It’s undoubtedly DIGITAL LEATHER'S best record. A new page for a band reborn. They will take you into the future with them. Baptized in the vibration of a thousand LFOs.

Full Trash 122 - MISCALCULATIONS - Kill The Whole Cast LP (Co-release with FDH / Rockstar Rec.)

Capitán Marco of the London-based punk rock fleet NO FRONT TEETH RECORDS is an unweary demonio for the good punk work and he was the singer of the recently deceased GAGGERS and played in a helluva other bands. He quickly calculated his remaining super-powers: writer of excellent punk poetry + wizard of super catchy melodies = MISCALCULATIONS.
That’s simple math. Bam! New band going. Together with drummer Shaun he already wrote and pounded out two LPs on Dead Beat and Rockstar Rec. and now kills everything with this third LP. Though the MISCALCULATIONS know how to add 7+7, and Marco’s gritty and snotty voice screams ’punk singer’ with every syllable he spits out, MISCALCULATIONS definitely advanced the punk sound (some may call it Post-Punk).
The 12 songs on ’Kill the whole cast’ are a tasteful blend of the sound of BUZZCOCKS, WIRE, THE STATUES, even some MIND SPIDERS with the catchy and sharp, yet laconic guitar work and the melancholic and demanding undertone of WIPERS, MASSHYSTERY or THE VICIOUS plus some Electro-Synth-NoWave-Punk of THE UNITS or even THE SPITS.
Always intense, always poetic with outstanding cryptic yrics and wrapped up in cool imagery. When this album has passed they killed the whole cast / You will be obsessed when they killed the whole cast!

OUTTACONTROLLER, who were traded as the Canadian HEX DISPENSERS beforehand, are back with their second longplayer and we have to say: the comparison still fits like a freakin´ leatherglove. Their sound is raw and earthy as hell their guitars, the distorted bass and the drums, which by the way barely manage a second without the crash cymbals all of that reminds me of the texan devils! But OUTTACONTROLLER take it one step further, they get Nebraska and BRIMSTONE HOWL on board and simply manage to stand out from both of them, especially with their sharp and bright vocals. No sir, there´s no mothafuckin´ doubt at all: longplayer number two is an extra yummy treat with a cream topping for fans of earthy, driven garagepunk! The hair on the back of your neck stands up from start to finish of this amazing album!
